Web Policy Override

Hi,

I read the documentation and even got it working to an extent, but not completely. I set up an override with a code so I could override policies if and when needed. After I set it up, I go to a site, am blocked, but it seemed to ask for my credentials earlier, now doesn't. Also, when I do manage to get the override code, I enter it and the root of the domain I am going to opens, not the full path I'm trying to get to. I can afterwards enter the full path, but this is clunky, is there a way around it?

Also, when does the override time-out? I closed and cleared my cache, and am still allowed to sites I shouldn't be. How do I set it up so, if a user has a good reason to get an otherwise blocked site, I'm able to enter a code (or even log in with my credentials) to allow the user to visit the site during THAT session. So if the browser window closes and re-opens, the code or login needs to be re-entered?

Finally, the code is shown onscreen when being entered; this is very strange. I obviously don't want my users to know it I want to be able to physically enter it on their computers. Is there a way to hide it?

Thanks,

Jeff

  • Quite the opposite of the entire company. I have the occasional need to allow a user to access a site that is normally blocked. When the user calls and says "I can't get to www.domain.com" I'd like to be able to either remote to the user's computer, enter an override code, and grant that person temporary access, or even on the gateway UI, quickly unblock the site for THIS internal address (or Mac address or whatever identifies the client). By quickly I mean something that doesn't take 10 minutes, but, more like 1, if that. That's why I imagine just entering a code on the client's browser would be ideal since I could either do it myself or give there person a temporary code or something.
