Sophos XG and Echolife HG8245H5 /GPON Terminal

Hi all,

We will replace our ADSL connection by fiber connection

So we have Echolife Echolife HG8245H5 /GPON Terminal

I need to know how to configure XG Wan port with this " FTTH Modem", i don't know if this terminal is layer 2 or layer 3, or if can configure it in bridge mode.

Then this branch office has already VPN IPSec site to site with HQ, so i have already public IP fixed, i don't if this address will change or know

I disn't find any documentation about how to configure this GPON with XG

You can plug your XG into one of the ethernet ports. Ian

Hi,

what sort of connector is installed on the GPON? If it is a ethernet type then you should be able to plug the XG straight into it. Does the GPON service provide DHCP or fixed IP addressing?

I have reviewed the device and it is a home router not a business router/modem. According to the site ny inference it can be put in bridge mode and does appear to be user configurable.

Connetcor to ISP is fiber

GPON has Four ethernet port

What about xg wan interface?

Hi,

the interface from my review looks like standard DHCP ethernet, but your ISP might provide you with a static address at extra cost of course. When the static address is supplied you will also get gateway and DNS information.
