PPTP Gateway on XG S2100

Good morning everyone,

I'm having a problem doing a PPTP VPN between an XG S2100 and a Teltonika RUT950. I also submitted the question to Teltonika support who answered me after seeing the logs. They claim that the problem is that Sophos releases its WAN IP ( 89.x.x.x ) as a gateway to the PPTP network.
ex: IP 10.242.1.100 sub 255.255.255.0 GW: 89.x.x.x

If I use a UTM 9 as VPN server instead:
ex: IP 10.242.1.100 sub 255.255.255.0 GW: 10.242.1.1

using the UTM everything works correctly while with the XG a recursion error.

Does the Sophos has a way to configure a virtual LAN IP for PPTP network interface, or other server related configuration options than just specify IP range? Or at least an option to accept what the client thinks Server's IP is?

Apparently, during current connection establishment phase, Sophos pushes it's WAN IP as remote IP, which causes routing issues, and thus Recursion detected issues.

Thanks

  • Currently the firewall uses the WAN interface with the address 89.xxx without problems in navigation or in the management of other services.
The LAN interface for an internal network is also used. This too without problems.

The problem I have is when I try to establish PPTP. I assumed that the alias was to be assigned to the PPTP interface that the firewall generates when establishing the connection. If I assign an alias on another interface I can't get it to use the PPTP network.

    thanks
