How to restore a configuration from an XG(W) to an XG?

Hi folks,

looking for some guidance on the subject. My XG115W occasionally fails, different issues each time. Last nigh was a concern because the WAN interface failed, no light and restart did  not fix the issue. I had to remove and restore the power before the interface would power.

So, the question is, how do I restore a configuration from my XG115W to my none inbuilt wireless home licence XG?

    I would try to import the configuration at the welcome screen on a fresh new installation of your home XG - Interfaces should be equal to your XG115W or more.

    The reason for asking is because the home unit does not have an inbuilt wifi card which is required when performing a restore and from previous forum discussions  on the subject the backup will fail.

    If I export the backup as xml can I edit the wifi hardware entries out and do a restore?

    Next question, if I export all but the localAP wifi page will that allow me to restore to a device with no inbuilt wifi?
