DNS Host Entry doesn't work for some VLANs

I recently updated to SFOS 19.0.1 MR-1-Build365.  Since the update my DNS host entries aren't working on all VLANs except the VLAN the firewall is connected to.  They were previously working in 18.5 and I haven't made any configuration changes.

I have created a test entry called time.com.

When I ping from my primary VLAN (the same one my SophosXG is connected to) I get this:

When I ping from my other VLAN (10) I get this:

I have DNS checked in Administration | Device Access | Local service ACL

My DHCP settings are configured to use the device's settings.

Here is my DNS configuration.

Is anyone aware of anything that changed with this version that I need to reconfigure?

  • On your DHCP settings try to add the IP from your XG in which VLAN it is referring to.

Example: VLAN 20 = 192.168.20.0/24 - Firewall IP: 192.168.20.254 <- Add this to your settings under DHCP

You Clients should get 9.9.9.9 and 1.1.1.1 as DNS servers with your actual configuration, therefor they will contact them directly and will ignore your Sophos DNS.
