When deploying Sophos under ESXi, you have sf_virtual-disk1.vmdk and sf_virtual-disk2.vmdk
The manual clearly states to deploy ovf only, not sure of vSphere, but VMWare ESXi 6.5 and up (requires a vmdk uploaded as well)... which vmdk is needed by which ovf ? as they are similar file sizes anyway, its hard to tell.
I would probably use paravirtual one, but i still need to know which vmdk to deploy.. 1 or 2?
