Enable onboard localwifi0 AP on XG86w appliance with home license

Greetings to the community, I am currently using the latest v19 software on my xg86w . Does anybody know how to enable the onboard wifi? I know that the software version doesn't support the wifi drivers. i was thinking more of a workaround solution using the CLI modprobe for example.

There is if you search the forums, but you would need to rework the fix after every upgrade. Also you only get one band at a time. ian

I would suggest you purchase an AP rather than trying to get the XG86 internal one to work. Less pain.

Hi ian, thanks for your insights and suggestions. Its much appreciated. I have another xgw running the hardware version. So i guess i'm trying to enjoy the best of both worlds without paying for a subscription license. In the meantime, i'll carry on looking for a workaround.

I have searched and searched and found nothing positive. Probably using the wrong criteria because there were some published instructions by a forum member.

Did you take a look at Unifi APs ? Really cheap enterprise APs without license costs and many features, working great.
