how to check if Sophos Firewall is blocking ports on a website or application?

    Firewall rules can Drop or Reject packets based on source or destination address or port.

    Application policies can be applied to Firewall rules, so you need to check for them if it's actually application control blocking.

    Website policies can be applied to Firewall rules, so you need to check for them if it's URL blocking.

    Note that if a packet is not allowed by a Firewall rule, it will be dropped, so you're also looking for the negative -- in fact that's usually the case in my experience. That is, the port or site or application isn't included in a list to allow, so it's dropped.

    Further, if you're running an endpoint (like Intercept X), the endpoint can drop traffic before the firewall even sees it.
