Lot of spam post 18.5.3 firmware upgrade

After upgrading the XG firmware to 18.5.3 we are receiving significantly more spam than before the upgrade.  There are lots more sales / cold call type emails plus some which clearly should not have come though such as weight loss, performance enhancement, some in foreign languages etc. I can see a couple of closed threads on this so wondered if anybody else was still suffering from the same problem.

    Just to be sure: The issue should be fixed, which caused the daemon to not run. So the detection should be there. 

    You see it here: 

    Sophos has fixed the AntiSpam Problem NC-90702 and it is solved via hotfix 3 (v19).

    I can confirm that it is working again

    good entry: MSG Jun 03 09:50:18Z [1nx3wf-00077y-Vc]: spam scanning result: 'NonSpam'

    bad entry: MSG   May 31 06:56:16Z [1nvvna-000228-6v]: spam scanning failed, unable to connect local antispam


    So you can try to compare your entries of your exim.log, if the engine is failing or the engine is telling the exim, "nonSpam".
