Fresh Sophos XG SW installation , Enable Port 3 to access web admin interface

hello

we have server with fixed NIC (2 Fiber Channel ports) and another NIC with 2 copper ethernet ports.
we installed fresh Sophos XG SW on this server , Sophos XG detected FC ports as port 1 and 2, and as we know default configuration is (port 1 is LAN 172.16.16.16 and Port 2 is WAN) and other interfaces disabled.

we want to access Sophos XG using laptop (no FC ports) and Ethernet cable using (port 3 or 4).
How from CLI we enable Port 3 and access Sophos XG web admin interface using this port ?

thanks

  • Hi,

you need to complete the installation and enable the ports using the GUI.

There's a KBA on CLI commandsn the right hand top corner of the forum

  • Hi,

sorry, my previous answer is wrong, I misunderstood your post.

connect the none fibre ports to active network and perform a fresh installation.

  • hello

So as I understand your answer. If I connect Port 3 to active network and perform fresh installation while port 3 connected, SFOS will automatically  detect port 3 and enable it automatically ,[ not default behavior ports (1 and 2)).

so I can access GUI using Port3 for first time.

    thanks
