Setup Eero with Sophos XG VM

I know this question seems to have been asked on this forum, but I cannot seem to find a situation that matches my needs.  I want to set up my network as such

PROXMOX VM RUNNING SOPHOS XG -> NETWORK SWITCH -> EERO AP (BRIDGE MODE)

I've setup the Sophos in routed mode with the XG handling the DHCP.  I can successfully set up a VM in Promox and virtually connect it to the Sophos LAN port, and the test VM gets an address and has access to the internet.  The issue I'm having is my Eero does not seems to be getting internet access (i.e. it just sits there with the Red light on).  I have even set up the Eero in standard mode (i.e. as a gateway) with DHCP set in the ISP settings.  It should theoretically get an IP address from the Sophos since it's acting as a router for the most part.  However, it does not get an IP address from the Sophos DHCP.  I don't quite understand what is happening here.  Am I just not setting things up correctly?  Has anyone had success with this that can help me out?

Also, I have one firewall rule set up that basically allows all traffic to pass from LAN to WAN, and I have the default NAT rule as well.  Any help here would be appreciated.

  • The idea is to have the Sophos XG VM be the DHCP server as well as the firewall. I have a test setup right now with just the Proxmox Server and my laptop hooked to a switch. The laptop received a DHCP address (as I would have expected). I’m updating the Sophos install now, and when That’s done, I’ll try adding the Eero in and see if it gets a internet.
