RED 50 and XG135 SFOS 18.5.2 MR-2-Build380

I'm running a XG firewall at the office (XG135 18.5.2 MR-2) and one at home (XG135 18.5.2 MR-2), both are connected with RED (Firewall RED client on the XG's).

All is working as expected.

I just bougth a second hands RED 50 to replace my XG at home. The seller gave me the unlock code. I configured a new RED interface on the office XG, connected the RED to my home internet (after the ISP modem and before the home XG). The RED 50 seems to connect, tries to update the firmware and reboots. (it gets to firmware update 4/6)

After rebooting it connects to UTM, show something about retrieving config from UTM failed, display the message connection to UTM failed and then the whole process restarts.

How can I fix this?

Regards,

Stefaan

  • Update : This is what I see in de red.log on the office XG. The IP is my home IP and the ID is the ID from the RED I bougth.

    Reading REDv2 key from STDIN:

    Reading REDv2 key from STDIN:

Sat Jan 22 14:57:13 2022Z REDD ERROR: server: Can not do SSL handshake on Socket accept from '1xx.1xx.1xx.xx': SSL accept attempt failed because of handshake problems

Sat Jan 22 14:57:15 2022Z REDD INFO: server: New connection from 1xx.1xx.1xx.xx with ID A34XXXXXXXXXX (cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384), rev1

Update 2: digging a bit further, I found this in the logs for the RED's ID :

Sat Jan 22 15:30:55 2022Z REDD INFO command '{"data":{"message":"Failed to apply device config: Invalid unlock code to unlock 'offline' deployed device to 'online' mode"},"type":"DISCONNECT"}'

Sat Jan 22 15:30:55 2022Z REDD INFO Disconnecting: Failed to apply device config: Invalid unlock code to unlock 'offline' deployed device to 'online' mode

Where can I find the rigth unlockcode ?

  • Fixed, apparently  I used a USB-key in my testing process. At the moment I have it working with ofline config.
