PS. An XG210 Rev2 has C22 as serial number prefix (https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000034595)

This same thing happened to me when attempting to upgrade from 17.5 to 18. We also have the XG210, not sure if it's rev2, though.
I filed a support ticket, and they advised me to do a fresh install of v18 which is what I ended up having to do. I downloaded a backup of my current config, downloaded the v18 iso and set up a bootable USB stick (Sophos recommends using Belena Etcher for this -- search for the support article on how to create a bootable iso).
Be very certain you have the passwords you need to unencrypt your config backup. You'll need them to restore your v17.5 config after doing a fresh install of v18.5.

Thanks for your reply.
I have inserted the last 500 records of the migration.log
The latest entry is dated 2021-07-14.
We tried to upgrade last week (2021-12-30) -> not a single entry?!
2021-07-14 corresponds with the previous upgrade (to v17.5.16) we were told to do relating to and resolving case 04219299 (No web access after activating imported certificate).
The Sophos tech at that time suggested to wait for the release of 18.0.6 MR6-Build655 in order to upgrade from v17.5.16
Could this be related?
Should we try to upgrade using SFLoader?
Or even reimage ?
