XG Firmware Management

Hi All,

As an MSP we are really struggling since moving to SOPHOS Central for Firewall Management (forced from onprem SFM) for firmware updates.  We have many customers, each with 1-2 XG's assigned to their Customer in Central.

In SFM we had the option to access a single page where we could view the firmware revisions and push updates to devices. This seemed to work really well, and we were easily able to keep on top of the firmware releases and baselines of our testing.

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong sections, but as an MSP/Partner, can someone help me understand if Central gives us the ability to:

1) Review all firewalls, across all customers in a single view to determine what devices are outside our tested / baseline firmware

2) Schedule firmware updates, to the selected baseline firmware, for the clients XG's.

If not - what other options do we have except manually?

How are others with 100 XG's in production with many customers handling this other than "man hours" clicking in and out of Central Customers to review, and initiate updates? (If the update even shows in central - but that's a separate frustration!)

  • Hi LuCar,

Is there a roadmap somewhere I haven't seen to support that?

The feature loss moving to central has been significant, not just with Firmware, but host/service management, deployment, bulk changes that we were able to do with SFM.  SFM was one of the major factors in us selecting SOPHOS as our preferred partner but it seems that they haven't kept the MSP perspective in consideration when making these decisions.
