Currently on Untangle - Untangle is really upsetting me. Why choose sophos?

Currently on Untangle - Untangle is really upsetting me.  My upload speeds have decrease from 700 to 17.. and they refuse to help actually speak to me, this happened after they auto renews my license.   Why choose sophos?  is there anyone out there who was using untangle and switch to sophos ?  

i got a key but can i use it in a vm first then use on real hardware?  i want to test this out first before moving to bare metal.

with untangle i pay a $50 / yr subscription   for HOME PRO..  what is the price subs for sophos for home users?

    The License for the Firewall for home usage is free, and there's no support for it besides here in the community.

    Yes, can use on either VM's or on real hardware. Just be sure to have at least 4GB of RAM and a decent processor.

    But there are hardware limits on it, which is 4 Cores and 6GB of RAM.

    Thanks for the responses, let me ask that second one a different way , can i use the same key first use it on a vm to pay with it, then use the same key on bare metal if i so desire to use the firewall, or will a new key with a new account have to be created?

    I understand the home is free, but is there a paid for option that takes you our of home free into something like untangle has like a home pro.. $50/yr  etc..

    There isn't, all features that you would get on a real fully licensed appliance, such as Zero-Day Protection (Sandboxing), WAF or TLS Inspection are all available on the free Home License.

    The only different thing is, you don't get support from Sophos, so you will rely here on the Community in case you need help with something.

    I don't remember this very well, but I think you can. (There might be some delay in order to use the same license in a different installation.)

    Anyways, you can get another Home License if you want to. (Just go to the same steps as you did before to get it again.)
