XG Failover rules

I have setup: Port2 WAN Static, set Active in my failover rule in Link Manager.

Port8 WAN Failover DHCP (its a 4G cradlepoint) set as Backup in Link Manager.

I set the backup to activate on Any gateway fails.

Test worked perfect right on time (30sec)

Do I need worry about adding any Failover Rules ?

    Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

    I would recommend you to change the IP address that the Failover rule will be pinging, for a Public one such as 8.8.8.8.

    For example, if your XG has the Public IP 199.199.199.200 and your ISP router (DG) is 199.199.199.199, the XG will be Pining only that IP, so if your ISP has any issue beyond this router, the XG won’t consider the link down, as the ISP router will still be replying back, but if you use a Public IP such as 8.8.8.8 the XG will be testing the connectivity all the way beyond your ISP Router. 

    XG -->> ISP 

    XG -->> ISP -->> Beyond
