When does LAG (active-backup) fail over?

Hi

when setting up a LAG in active-backup mode with 2 interfaces. Will the lag fail over when the other end of the primary interface goes down (like the interface of a switch) or does the interface really need to be down itself?

    Hi Michel, Thanks for reaching out to Sophos Community.

    I tried testing this and found that shutting down the interface on Switch didn't affect the LAG on XG. I didn't get any port down logs in the Syslog as well. It worked on physically disconnecting the cable. 

    Did you have a similar observation?
