Smart Wrist Watches

.Hi All,

So we are planning to roll out the Sophos security agent to all laptops and iPhones/Android drives this will allow us to restrict access to the WiFi with needing to change the PSK evetime somebody leaves the company.  Some devices will be setup with the clientless profile such as Wi-Fi credit card terminals but they have a static IP address anyway.

My big problem is how to manage smart wrist watches that have built in Wi-FI.  They don't support the Sophos security agent and setting them up with static IP addresses is not an option.

Does anybody have any suggestions how to manage this with XG.

Thanks,

Doug

  • I believe during the setup of the smart watch from Apple it gets a list of the encrypted passwords from the keychain.  Not 100% sure on android.

or the end users are manually entering the PSK when they come into the office and wont notifications on the watch when there phone isn't near.

  • I thought you said the psk is managed by sophos security agent or planned too be. Also I would hope you are using aes rather then psk?

  • Yes we are using AES as part of the encryption.  We are planning to use the agent as it integrates with Microsoft AD and the agent can be installed for 90% of the devices we have on the network.  the other 5% is credit card terminals but they are not an issue it is the other 5% that is smart watches that is an issue.

pre-shared key is in use at the moment but we are looking to move away from it as a primary method of security for the Wi-Fi, AES is used in conjunction
