18.0.5_MR5-586: Basic Setup with CLI - not possible?

Hello,

a customer hired me for installing Sophos XG in a virtual Environment. The LAN Network is fixed. Our access to that Area ist through a VPN connection.

This customer bought only one virtual Machine.

Now, we installed SFOS 18.0.5_MR5-586, assigned the virtual LANs, and - cannot ping, becaus the default IP 172.16.16.16.16 ist not pingable.

So, I know there is a CLI Setup Tool for that case, but I do not have the default admin password. I cannot assign some with the Browser, because the default IP is not routed in our Environmen.

Please help.

  • You can change the password during setup or at first setup using the GUI on https://172.16.16.16:4444/.

the default password should be admin.
