Home License: available memory vs memory usage

I have a question. According to all the information i can read on this forum the limitations of the Home License are:

  • 6 GB RAM,
  • 4 cores maximum of resources are use

So i moved my Sophos XG from an old machine to a brand new one which has 8GB of RAM. Sophos does recognize the 8GB and even reports on it (see the attached image)

My question is: is the 8GB actually being used?

  • My experience has been that 8gb is used until either an update or a restart. Some of the vm users are reporting permanent 8gb in use. Me, I am stuck on 6gb, but currently don’t use much over 3gb.

  • Thnx Ian. I've tested and restarted the device during a period of several days. It came up with the 8 GB everytime.
I'll keep monitoring this behavior and will report changes.
