Setting Hostname to XG firewall v18 query

Thank you for the reply, I have looked at that article already however when accessing the console and inserting show http_proxy I do not see the proxy_url_use_hostname.

Regardless I tried to turn it on, and the command is not recognised.

you will need to create a DNS entry that is not advertised on the WAN. in the network tab of the GUI.

Thank you for your response, however I have checked that it is not published on the WAN. 

DNS host entry setting asks if it should be published on the WAN or not and I have left it unchecked, so it isn't advertised

did you use the internal address of the XG and did you tick add reverse lookup for this entry?

I have inserted the internal IP address I have manually configured and have the reverse DNS lookup inserted in the DNS host entry part.

Type in FirewallXG:4444 in the browser, but I get no response.

I get the FirewallXG unexpectedly closed the connection

Do you have the XG ca installed and have you cleared you browser cache?

I've uploaded the Appliance Certificate.

I have not yet added the security cert.

Just to add when I ping the host name it doesn't ping, but it does show it resolves to the set IP address, it just doesn't return a response.

The firewall is on the domain it just doesn't point to anything at the moment well except for the UTM. There is a UTM appliance for Web protection, will be replacing it soon with the XG once it is configured like for like for the most part.

Something strange happened recently, I was inserting the Ip address in the Web proxy exceptions box win 10 settings  and I was able to access and then one day nothing, I now have to add my machine ip address to the UTM 9 in order for me to access with the IP address, what is likely to have happened, any ideas?
