Unable to access the GUI when connecting to domain

IP address has been changed from the default 172.16.1.15x for example, however when connecting it to the domain and it picking an IP address through DHCP, I am then unable to access the firewall GUI, why might this be the case?

  • Hi Yash,

Thank you for your response, I did all that I found on the Sophos website and I was able to access the GUI locally.

However after connecting it to the domain and it being given an IP address via DHCP on the network, I was then not able to access the GUI

So I inserted the new IP 172.16.1.x: 4444, but was/is not accessible.

    Request to follow below steps:

==> Login to SSH > 4. Device Console

    console> tcpdump 'port <webadmin port>

    eg. console> tcpdump 'port 4444

In another SSH session run below command.

    console> drop-packet-capture 'port 4444

==> After that try to access the web admin and share session output here or in PM.

  • Hi it is fine now I didn't change the IP address on the laptop to where I was trying to access the portal from.

    Current Firewall config:

    LAN 1 PORT IP: 172.23.12.1/25

LAN4 PORT IP: 172.16.16.16 (Sophos default interface IP)

    DNS Setting: 172.23.12.5

    DNS2: 172.23.12.6

I am trying to connect it to a trunk configured port.

    Gateway IP: 172.23.12.100

I connect it and see the port is live, however when pinging on the network. It times out, so not sure what else I need to configure?

New to this, my first networking project

I'm suspecting that the traffic isn’t reaching the Sophos when you connect it to the trunk port.

I would request you to open a support case to get it investigated and share the case ID via PM.
