ACPI Errors while loading Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition V.18 software, on QOTOM mini-pc

Hello,
Since the new version SW-18.0.x, there are errors when loading the Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition software.

[             0.893103] ACPI Error: [_SB_.PCI0.RP05.PXSX] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20170728/dswload2-191)
[             0.920003] ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, During name lookup/catalog (20170728/psobject-252)

[             1.032002] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.PCI0.RP08.PXSX, AE_NOT_FOUND (20170728/psparse-550)

Thing that was not with the old version 17.

Here is the configuration of my PC:
Marque: Qotom - Mini PC
Model: Q575G6 No WiFi
Bios vers.: 0.24 x64
Build Date and Time: 10/31/2020
Type: i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz
Speed: 2900 MHz
Total Memory: 8192 MB
Memory Frequency: 2133 MHz
SSD: 128Go
The Bios is at the latest version, 0.24.
FTP site for downloading the Bios: https://www.qotom.shop/download/BIOS/Q500
File => Q500G6_P024W.zip
The Bios was at version 0.22 and even after installing the new Bios the problem is the same.
Following the Bios update, the Firmware has been reinstalled with the latest version 18, but the errors are still there.
Does anyone have a solution to fix this problem?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards

  • Well, that's not a good way to fix it.

A Kernel update by Sophos would be necessary. But, well... we're both home users.

Also a reminder, if you ever update the firmware of your firewall, you will have to add this option again on your boot loader.

  • For sure, lol, this is not the most correct way, but in the meantime help out.

In any case, congratulations and a big thank you for your advice.

I had submitted the issue to Sophos support, but since it was a free XG Home Edition version, they asked me to write to the community site.

Hoping, as you say, that they will update this issue soon ...

Yes, indeed, I thought that we should do this manipulation at each update, hope that there will not be too many in the meantime !! ??

Otherwise when I got tired of making these changes I would just leave it !! lol

But it was very interesting to temporarily fix this problem.

Thank you again, and have a nice day or evening.
