  • I upgraded to MR-4 a few days ago and enabled SSL/TLS inspection again. It’s been running without issue since and I believe MR-4 may have resolved two issues I was having:

    1. Enabling SSL/TLS inspection was breaking the connection on one of my smart home devices (Awair Glow), even though I was not doing SSL/TLS inspection on that device (or any other scanning for that matter). Here is the thread that discussed this issue.

    2. Enabling SMTPS and IMAPS scanning was causing connection issues with my Apple mail client on both Mac OS and iOS. This has been a known issue for some time now and there’s several threads that discuss it but here is the latest thread I made regarding the issue.

I’ll obviously continue to keep an eye on these two but so far, MR-4 is looking promising from a home user perspective.
