SFM Availability reports - Interface is down

Our XG's tend to have 2 ports used and the rest (6) are disabled, SFM keeps reporting these is 'DOWN', so all available reports on SFM show as RED and CRITICAL so if there ever was an issue we would never know (bar alerts).

Can SFM finally recognise a disabled port as that and not as DOWN. I cannot seem to change thresholds or alter it either :(

  • Hi Ian,

On the XG, there two ports which is GuestAP (i think it is for default wifi config) and Port1 (For management purpose).. these two ports are in "unplugged status" and on the SFM also shows there are two ports unplugged. May i know is there any way that i can do to switch the status from red to green on the Interface Status in SFM (refer pic) ? Do i have to disable all these ports?

  • Hi,

if you are not using the guest wifi delete the entire object.

The management port will need some sort of simple switch attached to it to keep it alive.

The rest you will have to experiment with, I haven't used SFm for a number of releases and currently using the EAP CM and reporting.
