DDNS Issues after re-install of Sophos XG

Hi

Have installed a new XG running 17.1 but even though I restored from a backup and applied the same serial number I still get.

Failed

Hostname already taken.

 

Any ideas?

    Is it the same appliance that you registered your DDNS hostname to? Or did something change on the hardware side?

    I would suggest you, downgrade to the previous version which must be available in the Backup & Firmware > Firmware section, then deleting the DDNS configuration and switching back to the latest version and finally, reconfiguring the DDNS hostname entry.

    If you still face an error, get a case registered with support and our CIS team will be able to fix it by unbinding the database record for the hostname entry.

    Its the same version but on another appliance, switch from one hypervisor to another.

    Did a clean install, updated to 17.1 and restored from a backup
