SFOS 17.0.7 MR7 no official changelog

Hi,

I see that MR7 is available for download from the ex. MySophos portal.

Where is the changelog, is it safe to upgrade ?

No one have ever seen a "What's New", "Change Log", or "Read Me" document yet ???

What's the official purpose of that update ???

A Sophos-official told me, there will not be any release notes for this Release due to this release will not be rolled-out automatically.There should be a MR-8 soon, which will contain those fixes as well, and for which will be Release Notes and official communication as well.

This is the Statement I have. Don't ask me about sophos' Information- and Communication Policies... [:|]

I put it on my XG home box after taking a backup, would never put it in production without an official release. Seems to work fine.

Indeed, it seems strange it is listed on the "My Account" Firmware updates page but not on the devices itself.

Now talk of 17.0.8 and 17.1 too.

What say you - Sophos?

Hi folks,

slowly checking the mr-7 changes now the system has ben installed over the midnight changes.

At this stage I see the diagnostic reports have been fixed, no very large strange values and the units are spelt out as KBits. The graphs appear to be realistic.

Finally. This version changes nothing.

VPN still freezes many times a day, and et.c.

Correction ... At least for the last two days. VPN still freezes many times per hour. Horribly painful.

I heard today that MR8 is scheduled for a May 8th release. The date isn't written in stone though. I do know that it is supposed to fix an issue we had with PPPoE and IPsec.

Meanwhile, traffic allowed by a disabled rule (29) Jesus !!! I thought that problems would be resolved by SFOS 20.0 ... I am considering pushing this timeline to version 30.0, and not in this decade. Groundhog Day they say ....
