Also from memory only one band works at a time with the inbuilt card.

Unfortunately this is not supported or advised (dissembling of built in Wi-Fi card from existing XG/UTM hardware appliance and re-purposing for a software deployment).

Does build in Wi-Fi card (for eg. XG 105w/115w) works with software version of SFOS? I always thought that SFOS image don't have attached build in Wi-Fi drivers...

This topic has been discussed previously in our community.

Unfortunately customer/third-party wireless cards are not supported for XG/UTM installations. Your option would be purchasing a Sophos AP (or a Sophos SG/XG model with built-in wireless).

Previously rejected feature-request for the UTM.

Hi folks,

please search in the KBA section, there is an article on how to "see" the onboard WIFI chip and add it to the XG, but not all WIFI chips are supported.

Please remember folks that this is a commercial system you are seeing, not a home based system and as such Sophos is committed to providing a secure environment to the business community which is why there is limited hardware support.

I have exactly the same thing:

I have a Asrock H270M-ITX/ac motherboard with integrated wifi.

Is there anyone who may know what can we do about it? Is it another driver problem of the Sophos XG, that maybe Sophos UTM does not have it?

Hi All,

have exactly the same problem, booting my rack firewwall system with live ubuntu 16.04 the installed wifi pci-e card is shown and working, booting with sophos xg you can see localwifi0 (only with Shown by AP option), but no record shown, no pending access point, no access point in overview (fresh install of sophos xg).

in addition sophos xg seems to store configuration in the systems nvram, so if you try to reinstall even with a clean new harddisk as i did, sophos has somewhere stored and recognizes licence id etc .. so i want to ask if there is an option to reinstall sophos xg ignoring the previously (bios nvram saved?) configuration or force sophos xg to scan hardware for devices again. The installed pci-e wifi-card was recognized and working with a sophos xg test installation with another firewall barebone i tried before.
