Connect to SMTP server with self signed certificate

I'd like to setup SMTP for alert mails in the Sophos Mobile Control webinterface. The server I'd like to connect uses a self signed certificate. Is there a way to tell the SMC server to accept the self signed certificat of the SMTP server?
