Does EAS Proxy support mailboxes, in a single organization/site, spread across multiple servers?

So I've not run into this before; the scenario is that we have a client migrating some mailboxes (already activesync enabled, been working with SMC (on premise) for years) from an old Exchange 2010 server to an Exchange 2013 server.  Once moved, the mobile device associated with the mailbox no longer syncs.  Does the EAS Proxy not redirect, etc. as needed during a migration?

  • Hi

I suspect that the new Exchange 2013 Server has a new certificate. You would need to change the EAS Proxy settings to link up with the new Exchange Server. Even if the new Exchange server has same name and certificates, Please touch and save the EAS settings again. Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

  • Forgot to post back here.  Actually no the cert was not the issue.  The issue is EAS Proxy apparently doesn't support the redirects that ActiveSync on the old server was sending back to point the proxy at the right box.  Solution was to point EAS Proxy at the new 2013 box; on 2013 (and newer) Exchange just proxies thru ActiveSync requests as necessary to older Exchange servers instead of using redirects.
