EAS proxy configuration.

Could someone please post a step-by-step walkthrough for configuring the EAS proxy for email in Sophos Central? I've followed all the help I can find and still no success.

In the Exchange policy which server details do I enter, Sophos Central SMC or the server hosting EAS proxy? Which, if any URLs do I need to publish externally? Which ports from/to do I need to allow/expose?

I have a ticket open, but the response is, as always, abysmal. Weeks on and the only response from Sophos Support has been to downgrade the ticket.

Thanks.

  • Hi Barb,

I have been using the last document you list. I will go through the other documents tomorrow in detail.

i have setup a server that is running the EAS proxy application, went through the configuration using our wildcard certificate, uploaded the certificate that the eas proxy configurator generates. I have then used mobile to create a profile, that the server address for the iphone is to the url listed in mobile in the eas proxy tab. Phone picks up the account fine, prompts for password, but it errors out as unable to connect.

Check the eas server logs, and all seems ok, but clearly not connecting as no traffic seems to be passing.

One thing I have read in a quick read of the documents you listed, should EAS proxy be able to work with the native ios email app? I wont be able to tempt our users over to using the sophos mail app.

    Thanks,
    Richard.
