Remote Wipe

Good Afternoon Everyone!

So... I have been working with a company who is getting ready to deploy SMC. I am the first person in our company who is setting it up. I have the console up and running and I am going to be using my personal Android phone to start testing. I've been trying a few things out so far but I wanted to test the capabilities of a remote wipe. I have the SMC Client installed on my Galaxy Nexus and I am running Android 4.0.4 (no modifcations/not Rooted).

When I send a remote wipe I get an SMS message with a big string in it. From the SMC Console it is saying the wipe is "Successful" but nothing happens on the device. Am I missing something here? Is something supposed to happen afterwards?

Any insight would be awesome.

Thanks,

Justin

  • Ahh. Figured out what the issue was (or at least I think I know). I was using Chrome to issue commands to my phone. I downloaded and attempted using opera. When I sent a reques to wipe the phone using this browser... it worked nearly instantly.
