Move from Sophos E-Mail / Workspace to Outlook

Good Evening,

We are currently deploying the Sophos Mobile email / Secure Workspace app via the EAS proxy. Now we want to move very quickly to the Outlook email app. But: is it possible to also configure Outlook via the EAS proxy? Is there a guide on how to automate app setup?

I am thankful for all hints.

    All mail clients should be compatible with the Sophos EAS Proxy. The main consideration you will need to keep in mind is the email server used.

    Supported email servers

    • Exchange 2010
    • Exchange 2013
    • Exchange 2016
    • Office 365 with an Exchange Online plan

    I suggest ensuring you do not have settings enabled that restrict email to only users of the Sophos Secure Email application as well.

    I thank you for the support. We are currently still using Secure E-Mail, which is configured automatically. Are there instructions on how to automate the setup on the operating system side? Or. General documents / tutorials in relation to e-mail clients?

    I admit that I still have problems understanding how to set up the e-mail client to work on the mobile devices.

  • To supply a configuration policy to the default mail application, you can add the "Email account configuration."

    If you wish to configure the Sophos Secure Email application, you will use the "Work email" Sophos Container Policy instead.

    Once the policy is distributed to the mobile devices, the defined settings will apply to the application you've chosen to configure the policy for. The email address field is populated using variables (%_EMAILADDRESS_%, or %_USERNAME_%), so once the device is assigned to a specific user you have present in your Sophos Central Users list, the correct email address is populated into the app. 

    Other settings and restrictions you wish to apply will also be enforced.
