Hi Aaron,

Right-click on your Sandbox --> Sandbox settings---> Resource access -->IPC Access --> Direct Access

Click Add, and paste this:
*\BaseNamedObjects\MAXTO*
Ok and apply
Delete the contents of your Sandbox and re-try. 

This opens a hole in the Sandbox to allow it to interact with Max To.  Use it at your own discretion, and you'll probably need to test functionality, to ensure everything is fine after opening access to it.

my problem is, that after updating my Windows, Sandboxie no longer worked at all (only got the sandboxie icon with an exclamation mark).
I installed the latest Beta (.2), and Sandboxie came back alife.

But when I start a program inside Sandboxie it crashes (all programs, even the browser).

The windows is the latest version from the insider program, because I wanted to test the WSL 2 :)

Hi Torsten,

The latest supported Fast Ring (Insider) version is 18362/ 1903 .

If you are using anything newer than that, it will most likely trigger problems. We don't support that yet.

Since update 5.31.2 I have some issues:

SBIE 5.31.2, Windows 10 1903, no AV

1. Sandboxie runs in priviledged mode (e.g. links cannot be opened from Applications outside the box)

2. I get the following errors while starting Chrome:

I am not sure what do you mean by " (e.g. links cannot be opened from Applications outside the box)"  . Can you clarify your settings?
-Are there any extensions involved? If so, which ones. 
-Please, post your Sandboxie.ini file after reproducing the issue in an new Sandboxie with default settings  (Configure --> Edit configuration , copy paste the contents here)

I cleared my default box and started Chrome unboxed once. This has obviously fixed the problem, that Chrome or Sandboxie starts in priviledged mode.

The problem, that applications outside the box cannot open a link in a sandboxed browser still exists. For example, using Thunderbird or Keepass and try to open an URL, the URL will not opened in sandboxed default browser Chrome.

Thank you for the information. 

- Is Chrome set as your default browser in Windows? 
- What happens when you click on a URL  from Thunderbird? Does it open in non-Sandboxed Chrome? Or what is the behavior that you are seeing? 
- Is Chrome already running (host or sandboxed) when you try to open the URL from say Thunderbird? 

Also let me know the Thunderbird version so I can test this.

- yes, Chrome is the default browser set in Windows

- I dont seeing anything, nothing happens

- yes, Chrome was mostly running sandboxed where I have tried to open an URL. But, if Chrome isn't running, the same effect occours

Thunderbird has version 60.7.2 (32 bit), but other applications like keepass, Adobe Reader, TexWorks and so on have the same behavior.

Had a problem and installed 5.31.2 to see if problem was fixed. Still having problem.

Specifically, I can't get "Open With" to work. I right-click on a file, sometimes I see "openwith.exe" appear in the processes list, sometimes no.

1. Sandboxie 5.31.2, Windows ver 1803

2. Applications: Using the Right Click > Run Sandboxed > Run Windows Explorer. Then inside the sandboxed explorer window, right-click on file and find "Open With" or "Open With > Chose Another App"

3. Antivirus: Windows Defender Security Center

4. See item 2. Outside of Sandboxie, I get the "How do you want to open this file" dialog box. Not inside Sandboxie

5. Occurs in new sandbox with default settings.

6. N/A

Any additional info I can provide?

My actual goal is to get an application, launched with a .jnpl file, to run using PortableApps Java. I wrote a .bat compiled to .exe program that, if I can open the .jnpl file with the homebrew helper app will run the java app.

Also, I do like to test applications inside sandboxie, so I do frequently need the Open With functionality to for the "non-standard" app to open some file.
