can you do this test and tell me what is your result?

hello,

 - sandbox your browser (in my case firefox)


 - on this page sample-videos.com/download-sample-doc-file.php choose the "click" link.

 - To open it (not download it), when you choose in the dialogbox the associated program to open it, can you open the document?

In my case nothing happened (i choosed wordpad, notepad and libreoffice) and when the brower is not in the sandbox the associated program is launched and document is opened without any problem.

 

do you have the same issue?

  • I tried it with text files and notepad opened. I haven't granted permission for anything else to run in Sandboxie so nothing else will work. I'm using latest FF and Windows LTSC (1809). Maybe someone with your version of Windows 10 can help out.

    In fact i use windows 7, but this test worked in the past, and i don't know what happened but now it doesn't work. i use also the latest FF.

    when you say " I haven't granted permission for anything else to run in Sandboxie so nothing else will work" do you mean that if you choose wordpad association, it is not launched?

    if yes can you tell me how do you grant permissions with sandboxie? maybe it is the key.
