I just noticed on the Brave icon at the end of the Brave search bar a dark gray round spot with "22" in it, and tapping on that (on my laptop trackpad) the option to allow those blocked items appeared. So allowing them I can now post here. So that is solved.

I know how to allow the browsers appearing in the list of Sandboxie for giving direct access to certain things, like direct access to passwords, so one does not have to type those data in every time when logging on. But I don't know how to do that with in this case Brave for example, because it is not in that list. I have it set to automatically open sandboxed, but still have to open it unsandboxed to make username -or email address- and passwords stick after closing the browser.

Fixed, but they're using a tracker, which is why it broke. Maybe sophos.com should mix reply buttons with trackers.

PS:

I just installed the Brave browser, and have it automatically open in Sandboxie by adding brave.exe to Forced Programs under Program Start. Now with Brave when I start for example running a YouTube video, no SBIE2303 warning panel appears. But I am writing this in Chrome, because in Brave the top "Reply" button in this thread is not active. (Nor any of the lower ones.)

Maybe I will bring that up in the Brave forum which I saw they have.

I just remembered about removing the plugins from my Chrome, but realize I only have two: Emsisoft Browser Security, and Ghostery, the latter doing an excellent job of removing adds and trackers. I want to keep those two plugins.

I've noticed that for example I go to YouTube, the issue doesn't happen. But as soon as I click on a video and it begins to play the Sandboxie panel with those messages appears. I always just click it away. And I have no idea if Sandboxie still gives me the same protection as before.

As announced, volunteers will be given the care of Sandboxie as it becomes open source. Let's see what happens...

been having same group of 3 errors for a long time now, have been waiting for a fix.

i dont know what this error actually affects for me.

but we have 2 laptops, both windows 10, but only 1 gets this message when use chrome. i dont think ive seen it on the asus scar, only the gigabit p57. both use windows defender not 3rd party. latest sandboxie and chrome and windows updates on both. the one it appears on, person uses facebook, but i dont on the other, so maybe some thing encountered online when using browser causes difference?

hope it finally gets fixed.

Yep, same issue in my Chrome.

I don't see the option to start a new thread asking a question or reporting an issue here.

But at least i saw the option to respond here.

(I've been enjoying Sandboxie for 15 years with a lifelong licence. Tzuk even send me some emails in the beginning to help me before I began to post on the original forum.)

Um, anything wrong with simply adding Hide ? 5.33.1

This command line didn't work for me either. However the following did:

This appears to be related to Google Chrome's sandbox and it's been hardened to prevent anyone from hooking these functions.

You can try running chrome without it's sandbox (--no-sandbox on the command line)?

BUMP in hopes that something may be seen and fixed one day. Also had to use Brave browser to post... wtf?

There have now been at least couple of browser updates since my last post to this thread now, but using it with Sandboxie 533.1 (64-bit) I'm STILL getting the 3 errors, as reported in the first post. Current Chrome browser Version 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Brave browser, using the exact same version, (Brave is up to date Version 1.2.43 Chromium: 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit))

is still fine in Sandboxie, along with Firefox. No pop-up code errors at all.

Since Brave is Chromium-based why does it work without showing errors and yet Chrome always gives me that pop-up?

I do not feel safe browsing the web without the protection of Sandboxie after all these years, so I'm hoping that Sophos sort this problem out asap as it's been going on for months now.

1. I have switched to the Brave browser for time being. It seems to work just fine in Sandboxie v5.31.6. and v5.33.1.

2. The Outlook 2016 seems to work just fine with Sandboxie v5.31.6 and under v5.33.1, I get authentication errors left and right.

3. For time being, I am staying with v5.31.6 and monitor the forum to see if further updates become available.

I am asking Sophos to please clarify the support of Sandboxie going forward. There are a lot of folks here who depend on this application. Thank you.

I've been getting this message for the Chrome browser (79.0.3945.88 and on the previous version) lately on Win 10 64-bit using Sandboxie v5.31.6 and now with v5.33.1.

Sandboxie works fine with Firefox and with the Brave browser.

Chrome continues to work as far as I can see, BUT I no longer trust that it is secured with Sandboxie at the moment.

Very. Disappointed.

Not sure about your case. Mine had an already-existing key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome", and I just created the DWORD value "AudioSandboxEnabled".

You could try adding new keys of "Google\Chrome" under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies". Again, can't guarantee there's no side effect.

BTW, my Chrome is the enterprise version, downloaded from here: https://enterprise.google.com/chrome/chrome-browser/, running on Windows 8.1. This might be different from the more common version.

I don't know why but that doesn't work for me :-(

I found another solution. Now i start Chrome with this command line

"C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" Chrome.exe --no-sandbox

and seems that work, but maybe is not good for the security of the system

In my opinion is not usual to add key in the SO, for try to solve a Sophos problem.

If this 'solution' is a real solution, so dear Sophos, fix the problem re writing the code

and eventually save us from this long time hell.

With no audio, is not possible to use Sandboxie.

Ah, this morning Windows 10 inform me that sandboxie is NOT COMPATIBLE with SO! :)

I have the same problem with Chrome and SBIE 5.31.6 on windows 8.1 64

Firefox, on the other hand works fine sandboxed.

Does anyone know if these messages mean that chrome isn't completely sandboxed?

I have the same problem with the new version too sandieboxie 5.33.1 :-(

- Windows 10 home 32 bit Version 1809

- Chrome 79.03945.88 last version

- Antivirus and firewall of windows

Every time i load Chrome in the sandieboxie I have those messages and the mic and webcam don't work in the browser.

While with Firefox in the sandieboxie all right function.
