Community based support

What does mean Sandboxie support will become community based?

The community will include Sophos developers?

I would like to hear a more detailed explanation about this, please.

  • Pedro, your contributions to this forum have not helped anyone.  Please knock it off.

Yes, we are all bitten, but your contributions will not increase the likelihood of Sophos doing anything to fix things.

    Knock it off.

    - Old forum is still MIA.

    Old forum will come back?

    We don't know. No news.

    - Source code has not been released yet.

In september 2019 Sophos announced plans to transition Sandboxie to an open source tool but since then... just silence.

What are the steps to take in that transition?

In what point of the transition we are right now?

    We don't know. No news.

    - Bug reports and Windows updates breaking functionalities are still being reported but nobody solve them.

We were told "As part of our transition to a free and potentially open source product, Sandboxie support will become community based."

What happens with the support meanwhile the source code is not released? Simple: there is no support at all.

    - Empty words.

Frankly, stop communicating is a strange way to probe the love to someone.

    For all the above...

    1. Pedro, bien dicho.  Muy bien mi amigo.  [Y]

    2. I love this gif.

    3. Sophos, why the silence?

    - Windows Installer Service bug.

Windows Installer Service bug has been reported repeatedly for months and it has not been addressed yet. Not even a single word coming from Sophos has been heard about this issue.

    For all the above...

  • What I can say is:

    - Old forums - unfortunately these cannot come back in their original form. Sorry.

    - Source code - it's coming.

    - Support - We are doing out best but the world is getting more complicated as the last line will attest.

    - MSI bug - Microsoft has changed the architecture of MSI to force it to use the services.exe instance that is running outside of the sandbox and therefore making it hard to bring the whole thing within the sandbox. We have ideas on how this can be solved but there are no easy solutions for the current Sandboxie code base.

An explanation would be helpful. There is a lot of good information and help there.

    Why not?

    When?

"the world is getting more complicated"

What kind of excuse is that?

Tzuk did support for a lot of things. Sophos supports almost nothing.

    Blah blah blah...

    No solution provided for months.
