XG Firewall - Roadmap?

Hej,

is there a roadmap for the XGs for the next major versions and the planned functions?

Thanks.

Can you tell us if there are plans for any usability improvements like implementing separate logs for wireless security, DHCP, and system logs, and the ability to choose the default gateway address at install instead of 172.16.16.16? I tried the XG but went back to UTM because of the logging was terrible.

    Apparently, they can't ....

    Of course. I forgot, it's top-secret.Cool

    Mid-June 2018 ...  March 2018 is long gone ...

  • In reply to Big_Buck:

Well... 17.1 GA is out !!!

  • In reply to Big_Buck:

    Hej,

v17.1 GA is not available for XG85 and XG105.

  • In reply to Steppenwolf:

I've downloaded and installed v17.1 on multiple 105s so far. It's may just not yet be available for download in the GUI because it's rolled out slowly, but you can get it through your account online and manually install.

  • In reply to Bjoern Freiherr:

    Hej Bjoern,

it is no longer available for download in the online account (MySophos). I have already downloaded it, but I was surprised that it is no longer there.

  • Bumping this thread.

Logs are helpless.  Would be nice we had something that compares to Checkpoint ...

STAS needs a complete remelting.  And by the way, why not having A SINGLE CLIENT FOR ALL SOPHOS PRODUCTS AND APPLIANCES ?  Instead of going tru all those ports, registry keys, et.c. non-sense setups ?

XG as an NTP is a basic requirement.  Should have been done long ago.

Full features DHCP.  At least we could point desktops to 2 or 3 trustable NTPs.  Pooled NTP web site is such a non sens to me.

And so on.  We are in August soon.  XG is still at version v17.  According to last year schedule, we should already be v18 ...

  • In reply to Big_Buck:

+1 for STAS remelt - most of my pain comes from STAS and clients working then not working for no reason.

Biggest time waster on the XG and I have it set up correctly.

Also use RADIUS SSO for my wireless devices (iOS devices) and its so hit and miss as to if it will authenticate or not.

I always hope the next version has fixes but seems STAS is here to stay....

  • In reply to M8ey:

I got RADIUS SSO with Ruckus APs/Controllers working optimally. PM me if you want more info.

2018 was dedicated to bug fixes and stability almost exclusively.

  • Forgot to put a follow up/bump here, on the road to XGv18 in two years.

SFOS 17.1.3 MR-3 released these days. Bug fix mostly.
