How does one deploy firmware updates to devices via SFM?

Assuming you are on v16 of SFM, you can find it under System Monitor and then on the left hand navigation Device Settings -> Firmware.

Once you click that you will see a list of device models.  Ours has a bug where all our devices show under an XG105 even though we have 105's up to 330's.  Click on the action Apply and it will bring up a wizard to schedule the date/time and select the devices you want to apply.

It's a little worrisome at first as the GUI implies it will apply the firmware immediately, but it does launch another window to actually schedule.  Has worked very well for us.

Thanks, John. I was looking in the right place after all, but our SFM isn't showing any devices ("No Records Found") in that section. We have 2 310s added successfully to SFM otherwise. Not sure why they don't show up there.

Did you click on "Check for latest firmware"?  Also, do you have all the compatibility firmware selected?  I had this happen in the past and I think it was a combination of the appliances were all at the latest revision, so SFM didn't think (or know) there was anything to update.

I have the problem when i click "Check for latest firmware" that say 17.0.2 is the Applicable Version. Is there a workaround how can i get 17.0.5 or 17.0.6?

As of now 17.0.5 or 17.0.6 versions are not declared as GA version for all the SFOS releases  (v15 / v16/ v16.5/ v17 customers). 

Once SFOS 17.0.5 or 17.0.6 releases available for every customer (v15 / v16/ v16.5 customers), UP2Date entry for the SFOS 17.0.5 or 17.0.6 firmware will be enabled for SFM/CFM.

RaviPatel,

XG and SFM should go one hand to another and all feature sets must be supported as soon a new firmware is released on XG. We pay for SFM.

Hi Luk,

Customer is able to manage the new firmware via SFM/CFM. He can't upgrade firmware to latest one until that firmware is declared as GA via SFM/CFM.

Thanks Ravi. From the pdf, SFM does not support Firmware Upgrade on XG v17 MR3 and above...

So whats the plan with SFM? How do we update SFOS now? 

For example HW-SFOS_17.0.8_MR-8.SF300-209 is there and now I have to update a bunch of aplliances manually -> WHY???
