I have a XG 135 running SFOS 17.5.8 MR-8 and it has very recently started to randomly auto reboot during the day. It has happened twice now on two separate occasions.
All I can see in the logs is that the device has started, and no reason given for the sudden reboot, and all statistics eg under Firewall Rules have reset to zero?
Anyone else experiencing this?

My XG135 is rev 3?
In reply to Keyur:
So support logged in to my XG and the response I got was:
"I have checked logs using access id but there is no specific information available to get reason of reboot. Also after Oct 9, device is up and running fine"
So my XG 135 has done this now at least once a week for the previous two weeks... This is now week 3 and I am waiting to see if it happens again
In reply to Louis Swanepoel:
I just had the issue happen again with the replacement 430. Same symptoms. Traffic stopped, the hard drive activity light on the front panel was solid, and the front panel lcd would not respond. The port activity lights were blinking as if traffic was passing. I had to hard power the unit to get our network back up. This is becoming very annoying. We will see what support says this time.

I've had similar problems with a software Appliance last month.
After reinstallation with iso image, everything is working fine now, no freezes or restarts!
In reply to Dwayne Parker:
I am sorry but this is not a option for me and my XG 135 and neither do I think it is for JBO and his XG 430
Have an XG 106 that did the same. I doubled the ram to 8gig and turned off the auto updates and that was the end of the rebooting every 4 days.

I take take that back. Just restarted but this time was up 10 days... hope a fix shows.
To all of you: This issue only on V17 or also on V18?
Do you use REDs?
In terms of V17, can you deactivate the firewall acceleration?
console> system firewall-acceleration disable
In reply to LuCar Toni:
The issue was resolved.
I noticed that the firewall would stop auto rebooting when I plugged out the WAN ethernet interface going to the internet router/gateway. The moment I plug the WAN IF back, the XG would instant hard reboot.
I changed the WAN IF from Auto Negotiate to Full Duplex 1000, and Auto rebooting stopped. Keep in mind that the WAN IF has been on Auto for months before this with no problem.
Check out my post in this thread: community.sophos.com/.../xg210-rev3-sudden-restart
I fought with this issue for 6 months before Sophos finally figured out what the issue was...
Thanks for the info. Guess will wait for the mr-3 release before putting it online again. best regards
Enabled the "system firewall-acceleration disable" and turned off auto negotiate and see if those tips help. Only been a couple days so see if this is the fix(hope)
So far so good on those two adjustments. will know for sure in another 4-5 days if no unattended restarts.
Nope, just rebooted. Hopefully a fix some day. :(
