How to BLOCK YOUTUBE without blocking other sites?

I tried blocking youtube using web or application filter but once it is blocked, some sites are also blocked.

What should I do?

  • Lim,

You can create a URL group, add YouTube websites and add it to a web filter policy. You can also block YouTube using the application filter.

    Thanks

What are the URLs just for youtube? not linked to google or any sites.

I tried using application filter and filtered all YOUTUBE related but once youtube is blocked other sites are all affected.

    Lim,

If you are using Chrome make sure to block port UDP 443 so traffic will be correctly filtered by XG.

Youtube/ Google/apps related to google uses QUIC protocol that would operate on UDP : 443.

Create a top rule where you block UDP 443 from LAN to WAN and traffic will be switched to TCP and XG will do the filtering.

    Hi

in my case this workaround only works for the desktop browser. On my Android devices I can't see a fall back to TCP. They just don't work anymore.

Is there a way to block outgoing UDP and have the android devices do a fallback to TCP?

Till now I couldn't find anything.

    Thanks

    Stefan
