Download not working correctly

I work at a company that uses the Sophos Web appliance for web browsing. With one of the sites we use regularly we are having an issue downloading PDFs, whenever we try to open the PDF it doesn't open in the web browser it starts to download via Sophos Web appliance. When the file actually downloads it is called ContentServer.asp not the actual file name or the correct extension. When browsing without the Sophos Web appliance proxy this file opens and downloads normally as a pdf.

Would anyone be able to help me figure out a solution or could this possible be looked at as to why the proxy is interacting in such a way that it gets the file extension wrong?

in addition under the general preferences make sure you have disabled file caching (the off button should be greyed out)

note: exporting the log will allow you to see the exact request as well as if the file is been blocked by application control, file types or policy.

If all else fails, submit the file as a sample to labs and request information on the file and how it is been scanned.

Obviously it should give you the correct filename, I'm not sure why it isn't. We've heard of no other problems, so it may be something that this particular website does. You can raise it with Sophos support if you really want.

There are two workarounds you can do.

1) Go to the Local Site List and create an entry for the website the download is coming from. Set the Risk to Trusted, which will turn off virus scanning for that site.

2) Turn off the "patience page" or "deferred downloader" by going into Accounts, Notification Page Options and unchecking "Display patience page when scanning large files".
