Tracking data usage... flummoxed.

Hey all,

I noticed something maxing out my ISP connection today and was curious what it was.

Peering at Flow Monitor, I see an application called "Sophos Wireless" has downloaded 24 GB of data.  I was under the impression that the "Total Traffic" column that's reporting this number only accounts for data since the web page view was opened so this is an enormous number [implausible, really].

Attempting to figure out what specifically is going on, I went to Logging & Reporting \ Network Usage \ Bandwidth Usage which reports that the highest utilizer of bandwidth is the External IP Address with 1.8 GB.

Clearly, I'm not being given the whole story which makes me... well, a bit grumpy.

Can anyone help me navigate this?

Thanks,

Doug

  • What happens if you do the following, Doug?

    /var/mdw/scripts/httpproxy restart

If that doesn't stop this traffic, does a reboot?
