Occassional Unknown Host Exception in our applications since switching to Sophos environment

We have web applications running on Tomcat servers that we've recently moved into a Sophos network. All traffic in and out flows through Sophos. Our customers are able to schedule jobs that could execute several batches of records. Our servers communicate with each other using several SQS queues and SNS topics. At our busiest points during days we are consistently seeing these types of errors, UnknownHostException: sqs.us-east-1.amazonaws.com, in our applications. During that time our servers miss messages and as a result stop processing. We have a bug on our end, we should recover from this issue better. But I'd love to try to avoid the issue. It seems like the volume of calls causes this and then it eventually recovers and works fine. We just end up with records stuck, resulting in support tickets.

I don't know which forum this belongs in. Thank you for any help!
