Youtube and blocking specific categories within

Hi,

I'm coming from McAfee Web Gateway and one of the features I like/had was that I could block categories within YouTube. We are a School District that needs to access YouTube (YouTube for Education has limited content). It would be nice to setup a policy or rule to be able to block these YouTube Categories.

Currently available categories are:
• Film
• Autos
• Music
• Animals
• Sports
• Shortmov
• Travel
• Games
• Videoblog
• People
• Comedy
• Entertainment
• News
• Howto
• Education
• Tech
• Nonprofit
• Movies
• Movies_anime_animation
• Movies_action_adventure
• Movies_classics
• Movies_comedy
• Movies_documentary
• Movies_drama
• Movies_family
• Movies_foreign
• Movies_horror
• Movies_sci_fi_fantasy
• Movies_thriller
• Movies_shorts
• Shows
• Trailers

Sorry, Sophos does not do any categorization within YouTube.

Sophos does support "YouTube for Schools" which includes the YouTube EDU content plus any videos that you specifically allow.

Michael, why can't this feature be added? if another competing vendor does this then it would make sense for Sophos to add the functionality. I am sure it wouldn't be hard to add another tab, "youtube specific blocks"...

As far as I it could be added, and feel free to suggest it at feature.astaro.com.

I would note that the feature as stated would use the categorization done by Youtube and video uploaders themselves.

Also as I mentioned perhaps uncategorised ones could have an option to block/warn. Or we can go on the UTM and change certain videos to different categories like we can on the domains.

Thank for your response. I voted to add the feature from the link - thanks for adding that. I believe that this function will benefit organizations a lot more than without it; even though the categories are managed by the poster (and YouTube from my understanding). We use it because there are way too many videos to manage through YouTube for Schools; we select the categories that are a must view and block the others. If something gets through, then it becomes the teacher's responsibility to manage that in their classroom.
