What is the cause of "AWS_CONVERSION_PRE_CHECK_FAILED (Pre-check failed: 127.)" message in the log when trying to convert to autoscaling?

Trying to convert from single EC2 instance to Autoscaling.  Nothing happens.  Went to the logs and see this message:

2017:04:05-22:05:37 gsf-edw-sophos-2a confd[15970]: W Message::err_set:1103() => id="3100" severity="warn" sys="System" sub="confd" name="AWS_CONVERSION_PRE_CHECK_FAILED (Pre-check failed: 127.)" user="admin" srcip="172.17.0.102" facility="webadmin" client="webadmin.plx" call="aws_convert_to_deployment" reason="127"

What is reason 127?

  • Hi, Sean, and welcome to the UTM Community!

    There's really not much tribal knowledge about these conversions yet.  When you get an answer from Sophos Support, please come back and let us know what you learned.

    If you don't yet have a paid license that allows you to get a support ticket opened, contact Sophos Sales.  Their pre-sales engineers are very good and they have better access to the developers than does Support.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Hi Sean,

    what kinds of subnets are you using? We need at least a /21 CIDR for the VPC and up to four /24 CIDRS for the deployment.

    We've already improved the message to also inform customers through the WebAdmin more clearly. This will come with a later version.

  • Hi Bob,

    thanks for your feedback. We are currently in the progress of collecting those details to help our support addressing those issues more quickly.

    Question for you: would you prefer more knowledge base articles covering those items or do you prefer to have it in the manual?

    Best regards,
