RED rebooting every 5-7 days

we have a customer with 3 RED (1x RED10, 1xRED15, 1xRED15w).

Since about 4 months (back then, UTM V 9.510, now UTM V9.605) we see that all devices reboot about every 5 to 7 days.

We are not aware that he RED are supposed to do automatic reboots. Behind one RED is a backup storage, so if it happens during a backup, the result is a faulty backup.

Anyone with similar experience?

  • Hi

Have you noticed any internet outage with REDs? If the RED devices are not connected to the internet, it will reboot itself and check for the Internet connection and that cycle continues until it gets an internet connection.

  • No internet outage. As a matter of fact: we have installed a RED10 at the same location for test/compare purpose.
The RED10 stays connected, the RED15 disconnects and connects.
We also found that behaviour with the RED50.
I wonder if that comes with the refresh of the DHCP lease.

  • Hi

I would recommend creating a case with Sophos Support if you're not facing any issue with RED 10 at the same location. There have been a couple of posts here on the community where users faced similar issues with RED 15 which was not known at the time you first posted this question.
