Could not remove pid file /var/run//snort_tmp.pid: No such file or directory

Hi All,

I am having issue my IPS. Snot exiting and no more logs are available. This is the full log I have when I try to turn off and on the IPS feature.

2014:02:12-21:06:04 ced1frw01-2 snort[17601]: Snort exiting

I tried to restart the appliance but same issue.

Could someone help?

Hi, the pid error is normal.

There's nothing else in the IPS log? Did you give it a minute?

UTM version #?

Thank you Balfson. The version is the latest one : 9.108.

No more entry into ips log, as you can see from attachment. Let me know if I can provide more info.

Hi, I'd recommend contacting support if you have a paid license.

The "Caught Term Signal" likely matches when you tried to stop the IPS.

What happens if you wait a minute and then start it again?

Thank you Barry. I will contact Support. Nothing happens even after a switch on/off of IPS.
