Server Loadbalancing option ( About Weight)

I had a little bit nervous about weight in server load balancing. Please explain about the weight and persistence in details.

In my point of view, according to the figure, the two web servers are working as loadbalancing.what is time out 1 hour? I don't understand about this and why check persistence.

  • for example: if you run a shop at the servers ... you don't want the user change to the "other" node...

So the "session" (possible only the source IP/port combination) is bound to one specific server for one hour.

  • Hello Phone Myint,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

About the weight, it basically means how much traffic each server will process relative to the other servers, based on round-robin, the higher the value the more traffic the server will get.

If you configure 100 each server then each server will get the same amount of traffic, if you configure for example 100 for one and 50 for the other, one will receive twice as much traffic as the other.

As Dirkkotte already explained Persistence, it means that any subsequent connection will remain to the same server for an hour.

    Regards,
