Update reset my root password

After updating to firmware version 7.506, I can no longer log in to the console.  What is the new root password and how do I reset it?

I am still able to log in to the webconsole.  I went into management, system settings, and reset system passwords now.

After restarting, I am still unable to use the root account.

I tried :
root / root
root / test
root / (blank)

Still no luck.[:@]
Please advise.

  • Hi Bob

    Thanks for all feedback.

I need the root pw only for change the dyndns default server..., my provider dyndnss isn't available on the utm default list....

    Thanks Reto

  • Hallo Reto and welcome to the UTM Community!

You can only login directly as root with PuTTy if you've configured that on the 'Shell Access' tab.  Otherwise, you must first login as loginuser and the su - to enter the root password.

    Cheers - Bob
